Father’s Day was celebrated at Bayview Villa with a tasty menu, Candy, our weekend cook, prepared a delicious meal, featuring tri-tip with baked potatoes, mixed veggies and tiramisu, yummy!
Four residents had June birthdays, Patricia V., Tony L., Marilyn J. and Jim S. Frank A. had a birthday in July. Party time was certainly evident.
Please give a warm welcome to our newest residents, Amanda R. and her adorable dog Angel, Hedy H., George K., Jean K., Thelma F. and Hans K. Give them a big smile!
Speaking of new residents, the front porch of Bayview Villa was recently turned into a maternity ward! A pair of finches made a nest in a planter box and in time we noticed there were four tiny eggs. We waited and then we waited some more and finally two eggs hatched! Mama bird was flying back and forth in a frenzy, making sure the little ones had enough to eat, so now the front porch became a nursery! That’s when things got wild.
First, the nest was on the ground. Carlo, our caregiver put it back, with the baby’s in it. The next day, one baby was on the ground. Carlo put it back, the third day, both babies were on the ground! After that, we noticed Mama Bird teaching the wee ones to fly. In no time at all, they mastered their skill and flew away, not before we named them Lucky and Freedom!!
Church services on Monday continue with Guy and Judy from the Church of the Epiphany.
There were flags on everyone’s table honoring the 4th of July, complete with barbecue ribs and all the trimmings, a meaningful and patriotic day.
Dr. Dennis Wright, a noted physicist of the Stanford Linear Accelerator, came to Bayview Villa and held a discussion on Dark Matter. He explained that roughly 68% of the Universe is dark energy and 27% is made up of dark matter. A very interesting, educational and informative discussion.
Thank you Dr. Wright.
There have been a variety of activities being conducted such as flower arranging, plantings, jewelry making and the much loved sing-a-longs.
Our new Activities Organizer is Ashnita, who can be seen also visiting with the residents.
Our residents love Bob Monticelli, the accordion player who has everyone tapping their toes to the beat; Josephine S., Bill G. and Anita E. never get tired of hearing the Irish songs!
We hope everyone is enjoying the Summer and spending time outdoors, Come visit us at Bayview Villa. We welcome you!
